Our local pubs The Bonny Cravat & The Six Bells can be walked to via a footpath from Shirkoak that leads down to The Woodchurch Windmill, this is a fine example of a Kentish Smock mill and is the remaining windmill of two that were on this site and known as ‘The Twins’. You can visit the windmill from Easter until the end of September on Sunday’s and Bank holiday’s 2-5pm.

The Bonny cravat was rumoured to be a meeting place for smugglers and has an underground tunnel leading from the cellar over to the church opposite.

The Six Bells has a beautiful Wisteria that cascades over the entrance of the pub and is  in full bloom in early May.

Both pubs offer a very warm welcome and serve traditional pub food and a selection of fine Ales. Children and dogs are made to feel very welcome, both offer a safe pub garden.
